El - Sharkia 

El- Sharkia governorate lies between the most important roads to cairo,Ismailia,Portsaid,Gharbia

,Dakahlia and Kaliobia.

In the north , lies Manzala Lake , in the south , kaliobia governorate , in the east , Ismailia in the west,  Dakahlia. 

The total area of El-sharkia governorate amounts to 4190 square kilometers. Its population is about 5 million .The capital Zagazig city was built in 1832 around the barrage , which constructed by " Mohamed Ali" in the north -west part of "Tal Basta" . 

The governorate emblem is a jumping white horse amidst greenery .

"National day" : El - Sharkia celebrates its national day on 9th of Spetember every year to honor . the stand of El-sharkia's son , the leader Ahmed Uraby , against Khedive Tawfik in 1881. Ahmed Uraby (1841 - 1911 ) was born the village of " Hirriat Razana" .
